Importing a Project from BandLab into Cakewalk Next

If you've created music in BandLab and want to advance with Cakewalk Next, you're in luck. Cakewalk Next offers direct integration with your BandLab library, making it easy to import your projects and get back to work. How to Import a BandLab Project into Cakewalk Next

To follow along, ensure you have an active BandLab membership and that Cakewalk Next is activated

  1. Go to the Online Projects tab

    Access the Quick Start screen by navigating to File > Open Project or pressing Ctrl+O. After that, choose the Online Projects tab.
  2. Adjust Import Settings

    Select the gear icon (⚙️) located in the top left. A series of checkboxes will display, allowing you to choose which items to include in the project import.CNSongDownloadOptions.gif
  3. Choose the Project you wish to import.

    Simply double-click on the project you'd like to import!

Troubleshooting Tips
  • I don’t see my BandLab projects.
    Make sure you’re signed into the correct BandLab account. You can switch accounts by going to Help > Sign Out, then signing back in.
  • My imported project is missing tracks or sounds different.
    Check your Song Download Options—it’s possible only certain elements were selected.
  • Plugins are missing or sound off.
    Some BandLab instruments or effects aren’t available in Cakewalk Next. If you hear differences, try replacing missing sounds with VSTs available in your setup.
