Overloud TH-3 was a guitar amp simulation plug-in bundled with Cakewalk by BandLab.
When Cakewalk by BandLab was sunsetted, TH-3 was also discontinued as part of that product bundle. As a result, TH-3 is not included in new installations of Cakewalk Sonar.
What Replaced TH-3?
Cakewalk Sonar now includes a new plug-in bundle.
With the transition to the updated product line, we introduced Cakewalk TH-U in the Premium tier. Cakewalk TH-U is the newer-generation amp simulation from Overloud and replaces TH-3 in the current lineup.

Important: Access to the Premium tier requires an active BandLab Membership subscription.
What This Means for You
- A fresh install of Cakewalk Sonar will not include TH-3.
- TH-3 was discontinued with Cakewalk by BandLab.
- Cakewalk TH-U is available instead but requires an active BandLab Membership subscription to unlock the Premium tier.
TH-3 isn’t supported anymore, but no worries! If you’re looking for a great guitar amp simulation, Cakewalk TH-U has you covered.
To access it, you’ll need an active BandLab Membership, and it can be easily installed via the Cakewalk Product Center.
