Cakewalk Sonar - Views

Cakewalk displays your project through multiple Views, allowing you to explore different aspects simultaneously. As you edit one View, you'll be pleased to see that all related Views update automatically, ensuring a seamless and cohesive experience. 

1. Control Bar: Contains essential tools and information for recording, editing, and playing back your project.

2. Track View: The main window for creating, displaying, and working on your project. Closing the Track view closes the project.

3. Browser: Lets you find and import content into your projects, including audio/MIDI files, templates, track icons, effects, and instruments.

4. Console View: Provides controls for mixing your project, displaying tracks, buses, and hardware outputs as vertical channel strips, similar to a hardware mixing console.

5. Piano Roll View: Displays MIDI notes and events in a grid format resembling a player piano roll. It facilitates adding, editing, and deleting notes from a track.

6. Step Sequencer: Offers a grid-based interface for composing patterns, ideal for drum programming or step recording.

7. Matrix View: Enables triggering audio and MIDI patterns individually or simultaneously using a keyboard, mouse, or MIDI remote control.

8. Staff View: Displays MIDI notes as musical notation in the Staff pane and as markers on a guitar fretboard in the Fretboard pane. It supports composing, editing, and printing music.

9. AudioSnap Palette: Provides options for configuring AudioSnap.

10. Loop Construction: Enables the creation of Groove Clips and clip looping.

11. Event List: Displays project events in a list format for insertion, deletion, or modification.

12. Lyrics: Allows editing track lyrics and using them as cues during playback or recording.

13. Video: Enables loading and playback of digitized video files with your project.

14. Big Time: Displays the "Now time" in a large format, visible from a distance during recording.

15. Markers: Facilitates adding, moving, renaming, or deleting markers for navigating the project.

16. Tempo: Displays the Tempo track and inspector for editing the project's tempo map.

17. Meter/Key: Lets you set and change meter and key signatures for any part of the project.

18. Sysx: Provides 256 banks for storing MIDI System Exclusive messages.

19. Navigator: Offers an overview of the entire project.

20. Surround Panner: Controls output levels for surround sound setups.

21. Virtual Controllers > Piano Keyboard: Provides an on-screen MIDI keyboard for performance and recording.

22. Virtual Controllers > Computer Keyboard: Enables an on-screen keyboard for performance and recording using a computer keyboard or touch monitor.

23. Help Module: Displays contextual help for UI elements in Cakewalk.
