Alternative to TTS-1: Using Sforzando as a SoundFont Player

As of the latest update, the TTS-1 synthesizer is no longer included with Cakewalk. We recommend using an alternative such as Sforzando as a replacement.

What is Sforzando?

Sforzando, developed by Plogue, is a free, high-quality SoundFont player that can easily replace TTS-1 in your workflow. SoundFonts are widely used in general MIDI and offer a vast array of instrument sounds that you can load into Sforzando, making it an excellent alternative for general MIDI needs.

Why Use Sforzando?
  • Free to Use: Sforzando is completely free to download and use, making it an accessible option for Cakewalk users who need a reliable SoundFont player.
  • Customizable Sound Libraries: With Sforzando, you can load any SoundFont (.sf2) files, providing access to a wide variety of instrument sounds.
  • Lightweight and Efficient: Sforzando is a lightweight, CPU-efficient player, which makes it ideal for music production projects of any scale.
