Exporting your project in Cakewalk is a straightforward process that allows you to create audio files from your work. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth export process:
Steps to Export Your Project
Prepare Your Project
Before exporting, ensure your project is ready:
- Save Your Project: Click File > Save to save any recent changes.
- Check Your Levels: Make sure your track levels are balanced, and there are no peaking signals.
Select the Export Range
You can export the entire project or a specific section:
- Entire Project: Ensure no specific region is selected. Cakewalk will export from the beginning to the end of the project.
- Selected Region: Use the selection tool to highlight the range you want to export.
Open the Export Audio Dialog
Go to File > Export > Audio to open the Export Audio dialog box.
Configure Export Settings
In the Export Audio dialog, configure these settings:
- Source Category: Select Entire Mix to export everything, or choose specific tracks/buses.
- Channel Format: Choose Mono, Stereo, or Split Mono. Stereo is typical.
- Sample Rate: Choose the desired sample rate, e.g., 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.
- Bit Depth: 16-bit for CD quality or 24-bit for higher quality.
- File Format: WAV, MP3, FLAC, or other formats as needed.
Additional Options
- Dithering: Enable if exporting to a lower bit depth to reduce quantization noise.
- Fast Bounce: Enable to speed up the export process. May not suit heavy projects.
Export the Project
Click Export. Cakewalk will process and save your audio file to the specified location.
