Exporting Audio

Cakewalk by BandLab offers an in-depth menu of options for exporting audio. When you’re ready to export, there are a few things to be aware of:

  1. If any tracks are selected, only the selected tracks will export. If you don’t catch this, you may ask  yourself “why am I not hearing everything from my mix?” Take a look, and make sure no clips are selected, or better yet, select them all! You can click and drag across the clips pane and all tracks to select all. Otherwise, you can click and drag across the Time Ruler (directly above the clips pane) to define points to for exporting. This is especially helpful if you have reverb or other effects trails that are longer than your clips.
  2. Cakewalk by BandLab includes many file types available for exporting. Most audio projects are exported as a Wave file, or mp3 if a smaller file is necessary. We offer just about any file type for any application!
  3. If you still don’t think you’re hearing everything properly, check out your Source Category and Mix Enables options. You can modify these to your preference, but Entire Mix is the most popular Source Category. You worked hard on your mix, you probably want to hear it!
